Storms cause boil water notice in Bruceville-Eddy, TX
This notice affects water customers in the Falls County, Bruceville, and Eddy areas. It comes due to storms in the area and also conditions that have occurred recently on or around Theresa Lane, Foster Branch, Smith Lane, Westgate I and II, and from Hodge Road to Winchester Drive.
BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas (FOX 44) – The City of Bruceville-Eddy Water Department is raising awareness of a boil water notice.
This notice affects water customers in the Falls County, Bruceville, and Eddy areas. It comes due to storms in the area and also conditions which have occurred recently on or around Theresa Lane, Foster Branch, Smith Lane, Westgate I and II, and from Hodge Road to Winchester Drive. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the system to notify all customers in the area above to boil their water prior to consumption.
The department says that in order to ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice-making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
Customers can also purchase bottled water or get water from another suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, officials will make a notification.
